Carla reveals her fear and disdain for David who isn't David. She enters the plot as Amanda is remembering fractions of their dialogues and the moment Carla revealed to her what happened to David. The woman performs a transmigration of the soul, which means that the soul of the boy David migrates to another body, while his body is entered by a strange entity. The young boy David gets poisoned and his mother, desperate to save him, takes him to a woman living in the green house, to save him. He is at times a regular boy and other times a menacing force. ![]() DavidÄavid is the most confusing character of the novella. Amanda is a mother to a girl called Nina, and she developed a concept of rescue distance, paranoid to be able to protect her child in any situation. It begins with her lying in a bed, presumably in a hospital, living out her last days, while a boy called David whispers into her ear.
